FOREST BEUTEL is a one-man band slinging banjo, guitar, harmonica, kick drum, and a hi-hat, creating a soulful Americana Blues sound. Beutel’s voice blends the high lonesome sounds of Hank Williams and Townes Van Zandt with gruff baritone vibrations akin to Tom Waits and Johnny Cash, making a twangy upbeat atmosphere that engages a crowd and gets folks on their feet.
Married musicians Laurel Lundgren (lead vocals) and June Nelson (guitar) began their vision for Sister Madame when they met at age fifteen. Ten years later, they (along with drummer Chad Russell) are bringing to life shimmering and visceral stories of vengeance, mental illness, past lives, and queer love. With dynamic vocal harmonies and a blues-influenced spin on acoustic rock, their signature sound hearkens back to the spirit of folk troubadours of yore. They are currently recording their debut album in Tacoma, WA.
THE SILVER DOLLARS a dapper alt-country group of troubadours. Reynolds returns as lead singer, joined by Dylan Treleven, Levi Gosteli, and Paul Hirschl. They make the sort of warm, sun-dappled country that lived on the edge of outlaw country in the ‘70s. This is a band that desires only to make you happy; the same can be said of the rest of the night, which I highly encourage you to attend, if you join me in thinking that Tacoma needs a shot in the arm. Spring is coming.
