About Ciroc Vodka

The History of Ciroc
Ciroc was founded by master distiller, Jean-Sebastien Robicquet, a French distiller with a lineage of wine-making and distillation that dates back to sixteenth-century France. In 2003, fifteen years after establishing himself as an expert in oenology, Robicquet began making Ciroc Vodka, a grape-distilled premium vodka, in the Bordeaux region of France.
How Ciroc is Made
While most vodka is produced from grain or potato starch, Ciroc is a world-leader in vodka innovation, producing a vodka made of a pure grape distillation. Employing centuries of wine-making heritage, Robicquet has masterfully designed this technique himself.
Because he has a background and heritage in wine, Robicquet is able to ferment grapes into a wine using the best grapes in France that he selects himself for his vodka. This wine is then further distilled to craft a truly premium Vodka.
One of the distinguishing processes that Robicquet heavily emphasizes is the five distillations each batch must undergo before bottling at 40% ABV. After fermenting into wine, the first four distillations of the wine occur in a column still, producing a vodka that is then sent for a final distillation in a copper pot still. This is how Ciroc obtains its signature sweet, citrus flavor.
When it leaves the copper pot still, Ciroq comes in at over 95% ABV and is diluted to 40% ABV before bottling, meeting the global requirement to be labeled a vodka.
